Essence make up review - part two of two.

Hello!
Today I will be completing
part two of two of my Essence make up review.
Essence is a brand that recently launched in the UK, I had to order online from
'wilko' due to my local shop not stocking it.
This however was difficult as I had to guess what products would be like
colour wise and there was no swatches!
I did buy these products on a 3 for 2 offer so it ended up being a little cheaper,
despite the products being affordable- you can soon end up paying a lot.
The offer is still on in case you do decide to purchase anything,
I have the products linked below.
These are not affiliate links.

let's jump in..
If you haven't seen part one then you can find it HERE

So the 7 products I will be reviewing today are the 'blush up', 'lash powder', 'eyebrow styling set', 'lashes go wild mascara', 'match 2 concealer' and 2x 'matte long lasting lip gloss'.
Blush up - 10 heat wave - 8g - £3.50  - link
How beautiful is that?
This blush is surprisingly really pigmented, it does come off more orangey than pink even when swirled together so do be aware of that.
I think the packaging is a bit cheap and bulky but yet again these products are super affordable so I can't complain.
The only thing I really look for in blusher is colour, staying power and pigment and this has all three.
It seems to stick around for most of the day and doesn't go blotchy, I like this product mostly for the novelty of the ombre effect, it doesn't come off in one swipe and runs throughout the entire blush.
I have other blushers that I like more but this is still nice and very welcome in my collection, it just runs a little more orange than what I normally like.

Volumising lash powder - 1.8g - £3  - link
I originally bought this because it looked like a powder and not long fibres but unfortunately it was just like traditional fibres (like in fibre mascara) and it made my eyelashes clump.
I don't have much to say about this besides the fact that it was clumpy.
Here are some photos of it applied. the first photo is with the 'I love crazy volume mascara'
and the second photo is with the 'lashes go wild mascara'
To me, both of these just look clumpy as it's one coat and I brushed over them several times trying to remove excess product.

Eyebrow styling set - 02 natural blonde style - 2g - £2.50  - link
Now this little kit is super cute! it has a tiny brush (which is rubbish), some eyebrow stencils and two eyebrow powders in a re-sealable case.
It's super handy for travelling due to everything being in one tiny container.
The powders have a good level of pigment and don't wear off quickly which I like, I did pick a shade that was a little too light for me, I'd of been better with a shade darker.
I have used this several times and would continue to use it if it was a better colour match for my eyebrow hair.
I do however still prefer my Anastasia Beverly hills brow pencil over any brow product.

Lashes go wild volume mascara - black - 7 ml - £2.50 - link
Yet again another clumpy mascara for me, I'm not sure if it's just because it's a little bit dry but this was quite hard to work with, although it's easier that the other mascara I reviewed.
This one smells like cigarette ash, again with the weird scents.. and not so pleasant at that.
I chose this mascara over some of the others as it's in a tube and I thought that was pretty good for getting all the product out.
I found I couldn't build up this mascara without it going clumpy, the photo above is one coat, I did manage to get my top lashes a little longer but my bottom lashes didn't grab the product and my bottom lashes are normally longer than my top ones.
It was an average mascara that smelt really bad.

Match 2 cover cream concealer - 10 natural beige - 2.3 g - £2.50 - link
Now this surprised me! I don't normally like foundation or concealer that's super cheap, the quality just doesn't go into those products, I can get a super cheap eyeshadow and it will be great but the foundations/concealers will be rubbish.
This concealer is £2.50 and comes with two shades, a light shade and a slightly darker one which can be used alone or mixed.
The packaging is small and convenient, it isn't scented and it's sooooo creamy!
It's really pigmented and just glides on smoothly, this normally means disaster for me but once I set this with powder it didn't budge from my face all day, it slightly creased under my eyes but it was so minimal.
I actually really like this product and I didn't expect that.
The colouring is also pretty good for me, fair but yellow toned and the darker shade is slightly peachy so it could be used as a corrector.

Matte XXXL long lasting lip gloss - 05 velvet rose & 07 silky red - 4.5 ml
- £2.30  - link - link
If you have tried the 'collection lip creams' or the 'nyx soft matte lip creams'...
they're the same but these are super cheap, you get a lot of product and they have a good variety of colours.
They smell and taste like vanilla cupcakes which I love about this product.
They set matte but not overly matte or drying, they do come off when you eat and can go funny if you drink several times and it touches the product but a lot of lip creams do, both the nyx and collection versions do this also.
As it's not 100% matte and doesn't set hard and dry your lips out then you can apply more over top and it doesn't cake or go chunky.
They're super creamy and they glide on so easily and they skim over any dry patches.
I'd love to pick up more of these, I was pleasantly surprised.

So, that's all for this review!
have you tried anything from this brand? what are your thoughts?
